Q & A

Questions From Educators

Q: CAN USERS OF SCHOOL RESPONDER SUBMIT TIPS ANONYMOUSLY?

A: Anonymous reporting systems have, unfortunately, become a new tool for bullying. Making prank calls to law enforcement, known as “Swatting” has become a common practice. School Responder allows students who submit tips the option to keep a tip “private” indicating the tipsters desire to remain anonymous. This allows the situation to be addressed anonymously, while maintaining a level of accountability for those who may attempt to take advantage of traditional anonymous reporting systems.

Q: IS THE STUDENT INFORMATION STORED BY SCHOOL RESPONDER SECURE?

A: Individually identifiable information is a priority for School Responder. All data is maintained at a high standard equivalent to the banking and health care industry.

Q: HOW MUCH FLEXIBILITY DO I HAVE TO SET THE RULES FOR HOW HSR IS USED BY STAFF AND STUDENTS?

A: Flexibility is the pillar of the School Responder platform. On the administrative dashboard school leaders set all the rules. This allows for maximum customization to meet the unique needs of your school or district.

Q: DOES SCHOOL RESPONDER HAVE THE CAPABILITY TO GENERATE REPORTS FOR DATA ANALYSIS TO SUPPORT US IN DECISION MAKING AND RESOURCE ALLOCATION?

A: Yes. School Responder has a robust reporting system that allows for school and district leaders to analyze data and generate reports to assist in those decisions to support efforts to make the best use of limited resources.

Q: HOW DOES SCHOOL RESPONDER HAVE THE CAPABILITY TO UNIQUELY RESPOND TO

DE-ESCALATE WELLNESS INCIDENTS?

A: School Responder uses an Escalation Matrix™. The matrix is a set of rules created by the school which filters each incident based on the type of incident, its severity level, and location in order to match the best staff respond. The matrix notifications escalate responses to involve more staff until the incident is closed.
